1.  What do I need to do to apply for a home equity loan?

To apply for a home equity loan, you will need to call or submit an online application to Mortgage Equity Lending.  When you contact us by phone, you will need to have your social security number, proof of income*, your most recent W-2 form, and any information you have on your house, preferably the year the house was purchased, the purchase price, and the approximate balance owed on your mortgage.  If you choose to submit an online application, a loan originator will review your information and contact you by phone as soon as possible.

*If you are self-employed or do not have proof of income, we will still be glad to help you!

2.  What if I have bad credit?

At Mortgage Equity Lending, we will work with you regardless of your credit history.  We have experienced loan originators who are well-trained and will be happy to work with you.

3.  How do I find out what my interest rate will be?

After completing an application, one of our loan originators will run your credit report and assess your information to determine the products and interest rates available to you.  The interest rates will be determined by your credit history, loan amount, loan-to-value ratio, property specifics, and any rate reduction options that you select.

4.  How do I know if a Mortgage Equity Lending loan will save me money?

After reviewing your application, a loan originator will compare what you are paying now on your high-rate debt to what your consolidated payment would be on a Mortgage Equity Lending loan.
